 | Monday, May 18th, 2009: 5-Hit Game for Duffy!
It was high-5 day at Thunder Park, at least for Wynn Duffy of the Thunder Bay Bombers. He got a lot of high-5's from his teammates for his outstanding hitting against the Atlantic City Aces. Duffy smashed 5 hits in 5 at-bats on a his record-setting day, leading his club to a 9-7 win.
His manager said, "Wynn was hitting everything. It really was a special game for him."
In the other dugout the opposing manager told SION beat writers, "He ambushed my boys today. Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but luckily, tomorrow is another day. Hopefully it will be our day to shine."
W. Duffy singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 8th.
This season Duffy is swinging the bat at a .263 pace. He has hit 1 home run and scored 18 times, while driving in 12. His on-base percentage is .307 and he has played in 38 games.

 | Sunday, May 3rd, 2009: Thunder Bay's Martínez Out 2 Months
Juan Martínez of the Thunder Bay Bombers was injured in today's game against Las Vegas and had to be helped off the field by the trainers. The initial diagnosis is a torn back muscle, and he is expected to be out for up to 2 months. It happened while Martínez was throwing a pitch. "It hurt a lot, to be honest. I just hope it heals soon and I can get back on the field."
Martínez has 2 saves this season with a won-lost record of 1-1 and 3.29 ERA.
