All week long Paddy Esmonde was the talk of the Aaron...his name and face were everywhere. So it was no surprise to anyone when he was chosen the Aaron's Player of the Week for his exceptional performance.
Esmonde put up a solid set of stats, compiling a .579 average (11-19) and contributing 4 home runs and 8 RBIs to claim the honor.
In 2009 Esmonde is hitting .255, batted in 42 runs with 16 home runs and 33 runs scored.

 | Tuesday, June 16th, 2009: Snow Bears Shut Out Goats
Roberto Herrera of the Anchorage Snow Bears was one tough customer on the hill today. He blanked the Gary Goats 13-0 on 4 hits, registering 7 strikeouts and 2 walks.
"When he's on, he's tough to hit," said the Gary manager after the game. "He's just a bulldog out there."
In season stats Herrera shows a 7-6 record in 18 games, 132.2 innings, 89 strikeouts and a 2.58 ERA.

 | Monday, June 1st, 2009: Anchorage Starting Pitcher Sick
Looks like the Anchorage Snow Bears will have to do without starting pitcher Edward Cooper, who is suffering from the flu. He needs rest and medication and should be back at full strength in 2 weeks.
His record this year is 6-4 in 11 starts and Cooper has a 4.07 ERA.
