Wednesday, October 30th, 2019: Philadelphia Is 2019 World Series Champions
The Philadelphia Phillies concluded the season in grand fashion -- they won the AHIBA World Series. They nailed it down at Veterans Stadium by whipping the Chicago (A) White Sox 6-5 to win it all -- 4-2.

Their motto for the season was "Win or Die Trying".

"They never let up and they never stop trying the whole season," the Phillies manager proudly told reporters. "They hustled and fought the whole season and it continued in the playoffs. They are a very special bunch of guys."

To get their 1st league crown, the Phillies finished up the regular season in the NL Eastern Division with a 105-57 record, ending up in first place in the division standings.
Friday, October 11th, 2019: Beck Fires Shutout in White Sox Win
In an impressive mound performance, Mike Beck of the Chicago (A) White Sox checked the Los Angeles (A) Angels of Anaheim on a 4-hitter and held them scoreless.

"He was getting ahead of us and keeping the ball off the plate," according to the Los Angeles (A) manager.

"Beck kept us confused the whole game."

The Chicago (A) hurler rang up 4 strikeouts and issued 1 walk in his 4-0 shutout victory.

In 28 starts this year Beck has posted 16 wins while suffering 7 losses. He has pitched 218.2 innings, allowed 178 hits, and struck out 162, and he has a 2.43 ERA.
Tuesday, October 8th, 2019: Chicago (A) Star Landrum Struggles with Injury
Chicago (A) team officials speculated whether star right fielder Rollie Landrum would be scratched from today's ballgame after he suffered a damaged meniscus (knee) in yesterday's matchup with the Los Angeles (A) Angels of Anaheim. Landrum denied reports that he would miss a lot of time, but added that he would not risk further injury by playing.

Landrum is batting at a .263 pace in 2019, picking up 15 hits in 57 at-bats with 2 home runs, 7 RBIs and 9 runs scored.
