What a performance by Douglas Hawkins of the Provo Loans! The right fielder really tore up Ruth pitching and easily claimed the Player of the Week Award.
The 26-year-old hit .517 with 4 home runs and 9 RBIs. For the week he was 15-29 and scored 9 runs.
Hawkins is presently hitting at a .312 pace with 10 home runs, 36 RBIs and has scored 41 times.

 | Tuesday, May 19th, 2009: López Laces 3 HR Against Provo
Three home runs in a game doesn't happen often.
When it does it is something special to celebrate.
And Jorge López of Honolulu can celebrate it.
He is now a member of the select group of players, who have hit three home runs in a single game. He powered three into the stands today at Tidal Wave Stadium against the Provo Loans.
In all he was 4-4 as the Tsunami toppled Provo 14-1, knocking in 4 runs and scoring 4 times.
López told reporters after the game, "It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run. Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today I tried on the last one."
His manager added, "He is blessed with a natural home run swing. He gets the ball up in the air."
J. López singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off B. Abbotson in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off A. Jones in the 4th, walked in the 6th, walked in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off C. Plemmons in the 9th.
López is hitting .295 this season with 10 home runs, 35 RBIs and 30 runs scored. He has 54 hits in 183 at-bats.

| Monday, April 6th, 2009: Hawkins Punishes Ruth Pitchers This Week
All week long Douglas Hawkins made the highlight reels and made headlines -- his name and face were everywhere. So it was no surprise to anyone when he was chosen the Ruth's Player of the Week for his standout performance.
Hawkins put up a solid set of stats, compiling a .529 average (9-17) and contributing 1 home run and 6 RBIs to claim the honor.
