| Breaking News |  | Friday, May 29th, 2009: Hit Parade! Aguilar Pops 5 Hits! Jorge Aguilar really sizzled at the plate today. In a game played at The Thunderdome, the Syracuse left fielder blistered the Bristol Owls for 5 hits in 5 at-bats to pace his club to a 10-4 victory.
"Aguilar was too tough to get out today," the Owls skipper said in his postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too."
J. Aguilar singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off P. Wilson in the 6th and hit a two-run double in the 8th.
So far in 2009 Aguilar is hitting .367 with 10 home runs, 44 RBIs and 38 runs scored. He has 81 hits and played in 55 games. |  | Tuesday, May 19th, 2009: Sánchez Blanks Bearcats "Good pitching beats good hitting" is an old baseball adage.
Well, good pitching also beats bad batting.
In his postgame interview the Carolina manager said, "Francisco Sánchez made us look real bad today. He was outstanding. He was down in the zone with all his pitches. Everything was sinking."
Sánchez had 5 strikeouts, 1 walk and allowed only 3 hits as the Bristol Owls whitewashed the Carolina Bearcats 4-0.
To date Sánchez is 4-4 in 10 starts with a 3.36 ERA and has 37 strikeouts in 69.2 innings. |  | Saturday, May 2nd, 2009: Owls Miller Blanks Columbus Victor Miller allowed 4 hits while giving up 2 walks and collecting 8 strikeouts as Bristol blanked Columbus 6-0.
