Hopefully, I'll be back in the lineup soon," said a dejected Warren Butler after injuring himself in a game against Brooklyn. The Carolina manager told SION reporters, "He will miss up to one week with dead arm syndrome." The Bearcats will have to decide over the next day or two whether the left fielder will go on the disabled list.
This year Butler is batting .268 with 149 hits, 8 home runs, 70 RBIs, 56 walks, .337 OBP and has scored 80 runs. |  | Monday, September 8th, 2008: Carolina Left Fielder Injured Carolina fans will be disappointed to learn that Warren Butler developed blurred vision while making a defensive play in today's game. After the doctor informed the Carolina Bearcats manager that Butler was expected to miss 1-2 weeks, the manager told the press that the rest of the team would have to step up their play until the left fielder could return. "You can't make excuses in baseball, because there's always a game tomorrow," said the team's skipper.
Butler is hitting .269 this year with 8 home runs, 69 RBIs and 80 runs scored. He has 144 hits in 535 at-bats, 55 walks and a .339 on-base percentage. Butler has played in 140 games. |  | Saturday, September 6th, 2008: Davis Slams 5 Hits for Fargo Bailey Davis really did a number on the Bearcats in the Fargo 11-3 victory. Not just anyone can get 5 hits in 5 at-bats. But Bailey Davis did just that today for the Bomb Dogs and gave his batting average a healthy boost and sparked his club in the win.
"I felt real good in the batter's box today. I had confidence in my swing and knew that it was there and that I could get the job done," the 29-year-old first baseman said after his record-setting performance.
B. Davis singled in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, tripled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off D. García in the 8th.
