| Breaking News | | Wednesday, October 16th, 2019: Super Swinger! Davis Slams 5 Hits! 5 times is a charm -- at least in the world of baseball. When a player gets 5 or more hits in a game, he is honored in the record book, and the latest honoree is Lou Davis of the Colorado Rockies.
Today he beat up their pitching to the tune of 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but it was the Philadelphia Phillies that salvaged a 8-7 victory at Coors Field.
"Davis was a tough out today," the Philadelphia manager said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure. I'm just glad we held everybody else in check and got the win."
Speaking to the SION writers, Davis added, "It was a real good day for me individually, but not a good one for the team. No loss is a good one."
L. Davis singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off M. Ramirez in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
Thus far in 2019 Davis has hit .308 with 33 home runs and 107 RBIs. He has played in 155 games and scored 99 times. | | Tuesday, October 1st, 2019: Colorado First Baseman NL Best Batter in September Nobody was hotter in September! James Oglesby caught everyone's attention with some outstanding hitting and today he came away with the Batter of the Month award.
Colorado's first baseman put together a very solid month with a .333 batting average, 12 home runs, 29 RBIs and 27 runs scored.
Looking at his 2019 season stats, Oglesby has compiled a .297 batting average in 157 games with a .423 on-base percentage while hitting 41 home runs and driving in 117 runs. | | Sunday, September 15th, 2019: Timothy Winner, Whitewashes Rockies Milwaukee starter Peter Timothy really did a number on the Rockies today, shutting them out 4-0 on 3 hits in a complete game victory. He issued 1 walk and had 5 strikeouts.
In his postgame comments, the Colorado manager said, "We didn't have good at-bats. I don't make excuses, but when we were playing the game, our energy didn't show. That comes from either extremely good pitching or extremely lousy hitting... seeing as our team has a bunch of pretty good hitters, I have to tip my cap to Peter... he did an outstanding job today."
So far this season Timothy has compiled a 9-4 record with a 3.15 ERA. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 93-69, .574 PCT | | Position in Division | 1st, - GB | | Record at home | 47-34, .580 PCT | | Record on the road | 46-35, .568 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 9-7, .563 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 23-22, .511 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 22-18, .550 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 71-51, .582 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 5-5, .500 PCT | | Record in April | 16-12, .571 PCT | | Record in May | 19-8, .704 PCT | | Record in June | 12-14, .462 PCT | | Record in July | 17-10, .630 PCT | | Record in August | 17-10, .630 PCT | | Record in September | 10-15, .400 PCT | | Record in October | 2-0, 1.000 PCT |
