| Breaking News | | Thursday, October 24th, 2019: Doherty Rumored to be Unhappy in Cincinnati It appears to be only a rumor, but earlier today, fans around Cincinnati were buzzing with the news that their 32-year old reliever Matt Doherty had been asking for a trade. "I couldn't imagine him saying bad things about Cincinnati or wanting to leave." said one person. | | Monday, September 30th, 2019: Schroeder 5-6 for Cincinnati It was a sensational day at the plate for Billy Schroeder, but a letdown as well as the Reds dropped the game 16-15 to the Nationals.
Nonetheless the Cincinnati second baseman was pure misery for the Washington pitching staff. He left them shellshocked with 5 hits in 6 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.
"It's always good to get a bunch of hits in a game, but you also want to win. That's the important thing," Schroeder said.
The manager for the Nationals told SION reporters after the game, "Schroeder put the ball into play. He really hit it hard. When you do that, you've got a pretty good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw him some pretty good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
B. Schroeder singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off D. Rogers in the 9th.
In the 2019 campaign Schroeder has hit at a .279 clip with 66 RBIs, 18 home runs and 94 runs scored. | | Monday, September 30th, 2019: Great Stroke! Jolter Gets 5 Hits! When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the Nationals had a 16-15 victory.
