| Breaking News | | Thursday, September 26th, 2019: Compton Spins Shutout Against Seattle Danny Compton was sneaky fast, on the mark and hard to hit today. He blanked the Seattle Mariners 4-0 on 5 hits and had 1 walk and 9 strikeouts.
"You know what he's going to throw. You know what to expect. And you still can't hit it," the Seattle skipper told reporters after the shutout loss to the Detroit Tigers.
"He just had a real deceiving fastball today and he was throwing it for strikes."
This year Compton has 11 wins and 12 losses and a 3.78 ERA. | | Friday, September 13th, 2019: Razor-Sharp Allison Blanks Seattle The Seattle Mariners struggled at the plate today against Tigers hurler Ellis Allison, who shackled them on 4 hits while hurling a complete game 9-0 shutout.
"What can you say? We didn't hit well," said the Mariners skipper in his postgame comments.
"Hopefully we shake this off and bounce back tomorrow."
Allison finished the game with 7 strikeouts and no walks in an excellent mound performance.
"He pitched real well," his manager said. "Ellis made pitches when he had to. He hit his spots and did a great job of mixing in his changeup and using his fastball effectively."
This year to date Allison has 19 wins and 11 losses and a 2.33 ERA. | | Thursday, September 5th, 2019: Joe Prince to Miss 4 Weeks Joe Prince and the Seattle Mariners got a bad break in today's game against the Twins as the team confirmed he will miss 4 weeks with a strained hamstring muscle.
