The Asheville shortstop stepped into the batter's box 5 times against the Jacksonville and delivered 5 hits.
It was a sensational game for him. He excitedly told the press, "Unbelieveable feeling. Unbelieveable. It felt good. It felt great. What a day! 5 for 5! It does wonders for your batting average, too."
C. Miranda singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off S. Walker in the 8th.

He has knocked in 26 runs and scored 33 times. |  | Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009: Smokies Ramón Cruz Injured: Day-to-Day Reports out of Asheville indicate that Ramón Cruz, the gifted catcher, might be sidelined for 1-2 weeks or so with a strained hip muscle. The 23-year-old star suffered the injury in yesterday's Yard Dawgs-Smokies game while running the bases. "It's a game time decision," noted the team doctor, "It all depends on how Ramón feels later today. If he can play, he will."
In his stats this season, Cruz has posted a batting average of .299 with 59 hits in 197 at-bats, 10 home runs and 36 RBIs.
