| Breaking News |  | Monday, June 15th, 2009: Ruth Player of the Week Awarded
The Ruth made it official today: Aaron Stevenson is the Player of the Week.
He really glistened on the diamond this week with a .545 average to take home the honor. The Brooklyn right fielder went 18-33, drove in 3 runs, scored 6 times and hit no home runs.
Thus far this year Stevenson is batting .338 with 1 home run, 36 RBIs and 53 runs scored.

 | Thursday, June 11th, 2009: Bad News for Brooklyn, Alfonso Ramos Injured
Watching Alfonso Ramos getting helped off the field today at Coney Island Park, fans of the Brooklyn Yard Dawgs feared the worst. The news wasn't quite as bad as initially feared, but the starting pitcher will miss 12-13 months with bone chips in his elbow. "We feel we've dodged a bullet. When you see a guy break down like that, you worry right away," a team spokesman said. Ramos suffered the injury throwing a pitch in the game against the Bomb Dogs.
This season Ramos has a 7-5 record with a 3.68 ERA.

 | Monday, June 8th, 2009: Brooklyn's Marsh Down with Injury
After injuring himself, Yard Dawgs second baseman Ronnie Marsh headed straight to the hospital. He was removed from the game as a precaution after throwing the ball and the team's worst fears were confirmed when it turned out to be a little more serious. Marsh will miss at least 1-2 weeks with dead arm syndrome.
