| Breaking News |  | Sunday, September 14th, 2008: Goats Pitching Ravaged by Sutton It was high-5 day at Ace Park, at least for Matt Sutton of the Atlantic City Aces. He got a lot of high-5's from his teammates for his outstanding hitting against the Gary Goats. Sutton smashed 5 hits in 7 at-bats on a his record-setting day, leading his club to a 3-2 win.
His manager said, "Matt was hitting everything. It really was a special game for him."
In the other dugout the opposing manager told SION beat writers, "He ambushed my boys today. Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but luckily, tomorrow is another day. Hopefully it will be our day to shine."
M. Sutton hit an RBI double in the 1st, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, struck out in the 8th, struck out in the 10th, singled in the 13th and doubled in the 15th.
Sutton is hitting .207 this year with 31 home runs and 76 RBIs. J. Horn hit a solo-shot off S. Pérez in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, struck out in the 8th, doubled in the 11th, walked in the 13th and hit a two-run home run off S. Allen in the 15th.
In the 2008 season Horn is batting .229 with 119 hits and 19 home runs. He has scored 74 times and batted in 70. |  | Tuesday, August 19th, 2008: Goats Torres Sidelined for 2 Weeks The Gary Goats will lose the services of first baseman Javier Torres after he sustained a sprained ankle while running the bases in today's game against the Anchorage Snow Bears. When asked about the injury, he took a philosophical approach. "Worse things can happen in life," Torres said. "The key now is to stay positive." His trainer said he is expected to be sidelined for the next 2 weeks.
