| Breaking News |  | Friday, June 19th, 2009: Reliever David Meyers Hurt
The Atlantic City Aces will lose the services of reliever David Meyers after he sustained back spasms while throwing a pitch in today's game against the Rochester Rednecks. When asked about the injury, he took a philosophical approach. "Worse things can happen in life," Meyers said. "The key now is to stay positive." His trainer said he is expected to be sidelined for the next 7-8 weeks.
Running the numbers on Meyers for the year, he has made 17 relief appearances, recorded 1 save and compiled a 1-3 won-lost mark with a 5.19 ERA. In pitching 34.2 innings, he has totaled 18 strikeouts and 13 walks.

Today at Trailer Park Chad Barker baffled Atlantic City batters on 5 hits en route to a 12-0 shutout.
"He was able to keep hitters off balance and got the ball down," said the Rednecks skipper about his starter's performance.
Barker had 3 strikeouts and 2 walks in the game.
So far in 2009 Barker has compiled a 6-9 record with a 3.65 ERA.

Jesús Pérez and the Atlantic City Aces got a bad break in today's game against the Fighting Cocks as the team confirmed he will miss 7 weeks with a strained rotator cuff muscle. The Aces center fielder suffered the injury throwing the ball. The team doctor is confident he'll make a full recovery.
So far this year Pérez has 3 home runs and a .249 batting average.
