"I'm frustrated right now," said San Antonio reliever Harry Brown. "I can't help this team by sitting on the bench or in the training room." Unfortunately for the Vipers, that's where he will be spending the next 6 weeks. Brown suffered a strained bicep muscle in today's game against Waco while throwing the ball. "Believe me," he said, "I won't be out a day longer than I have to be."
This year Brown has chalked up a 5.83 ERA with 4 saves. In 53 relief appearances he has put up a 1-8 won-lost mark and struck out 63 batters in 83.1 innings.

 | Monday, September 1st, 2008: Aaron Selects August's Best Batter
Arnie Barnes of the San Antonio Vipers stood out in August with a .330 batting average against Aaron pitchers to land him the Batter of the Month award.
The 36-year-old left fielder totaled 13 home runs, 31 RBIs and 26 runs scored. He also chipped in 23 walks for a .460 on-base percentage.
In 131 games this season Barnes is batting .303 with 148 hits and 30 home runs. He has scored 101 runs and driven in 85.

The Aaron has selected its Player of the Week and the honor went to Arnie Barnes, San Antonio's fine left fielder.
For the week the he batted .467 (7-15) with 4 home runs, 4 runs and 9 RBIs.
So far this season Barnes is hitting .312 with 26 home runs, 75 RBIs and 88 runs scored. He has 137 hits in 439 at-bats and a .425 OBP.
