| Breaking News |  | Saturday, June 13th, 2009: Thomas Cracks 5 Hits Ralph Thomas put on a hitting clinic today as the Stampede dumped the Vipers 10-9 at Central Texas Stadium. The Waco shortstop sprayed hits all over the ballpark by lashing San Antonio pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the game.
He told SION reporters after the game, that he just hit it where they pitched it. "Too often I try to pull the ball too much. Today I just went with the pitch."
R. Thomas singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
This season in 65 games Thomas is batting .242 with 1 home run, 16 RBIs and has scored 24 times. |  | Thursday, June 11th, 2009: Vipers Reliever Out The San Antonio Vipers were dealt a serious blow when the team learned that Harry Brown was likely to be out for 1-2 weeks after he injured himself throwing a pitch in today's game against the Waco Stampede. A round of tests by the team doctors revealed the injury to be a damaged meniscus. Upon learning of their diagnosis, the San Antonio manager told the press, "As you all know, we can't control injuries--they are a part of the game. We just have to do the best we can until Harry is back in action."
This year Brown has made 24 relief appearances with no saves. In 38.2 innings, he has fanned 33 hitters and recorded 2 wins and 1 loss with a 4.19 ERA. |  | Monday, May 25th, 2009: Reyes Tags Vipers 5 Hits Players get multi-hit games all the time. But a 5-hit game only comes around once in a blue moon. It happened at Eight By Eleven Park when José Reyes of Scranton scattered 5 hits all over the ballpark against the San Antonio Vipers.
He walloped 5 hits in 6 at-bats in his career-day performance to help the Dunderheads get by the Vipers 15-10.
In a talkative and jovial mood after the game, the second baseman of the Dunderheads exclaimed, "Whoa, my swing was really, really there today. I made some good, sweet-spot contact and when that happens...good things happen...like 5-6. I could get used to a lot of days like this one."
J. Reyes singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, flied out in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off J. Bryant in the 9th.
