 | Sunday, July 28th, 2019: Red-Hot Rankin Scorches Giants for 5 Hits It was a sensational day at the plate for Jack Rankin as he led the charge to a 11-2 win over the Giants. The Milwaukee center fielder was pure misery for the San Francisco pitching staff. He left them shellshocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting. The manager for the Giants told SION reporters after the game, "Rankin put the ball into play. He really hit it hard. When you do that, you've got a pretty good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some pretty good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." J. Rankin singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, walked in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off R. Sullivan in the 9th. So far this year Rankin is batting .338 with 6 home runs, 39 RBIs and 65 runs scored. He has 107 hits in 317 at-bats, 27 walks and a .401 OBP. |
