 | Thursday, July 25th, 2019: Young Out 1-2 Weeks with Injury Oakland fans will be disappointed to learn that Oscar Young developed a strained back muscle while throwing a pitch in today's game. After the doctor informed the Oakland Athletics manager that Young was expected to miss 1-2 weeks, the manager told the press that the rest of the team would have to step up their play until the closer could return. "You can't make excuses in baseball, because there's always a game tomorrow," said the team's skipper. This year Young has earned 23 saves, made 37 games, fanned 33 hitters in 38 innings and posted an ERA of 5.21 and a 0-8 record. |
