Thursday, September 4th, 2008: Gai Rips Guantanamo Bay for 5 Hits
5 times is a charm -- at least in the world of baseball. When a player gets 5 or more hits in a game, he is honored in the record book and the latest honoree is Yu-eh Gai of the Anchorage Snow Bears.

He tore up the Guantanamo Bay Interrogators to the tune of 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the Anchorage 8-7 win today at Blizzard Park.

"Gai was a tough out today," the Guantanamo Bay manager said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure."

Y. Gai singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 7th, singled in the 9th and hit a solo-shot off J. Rosado in the 12th.

This season Gai has hit at a .281 clip with 66 RBIs, 21 home runs and 95 runs scored. He has played in 132 games.
