 | Sunday, August 24th, 2008: Red-Hot Duncan Scorches Loans 5 times is a charm -- at least in the world of baseball. When a player gets 5 or more hits in a game, he is honored in the record book. The latest honoree is Paul Duncan of the Honolulu Tsunami.
Today he beat up their pitching to the tune of 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but it was the Provo Loans that salvaged a 10-8 victory at Tidal Wave Stadium.
"Duncan was a tough out today," the Provo manager said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure. I'm just glad we held everybody else in check and got the win."
Speaking to the SION writers, Duncan added, "It was a real good day for me individually, but not a good one for the team. No loss is a good one."
P. Duncan singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
This year Duncan is batting .314 with 156 hits, 15 home runs, 55 RBIs, 42 walks, .371 OBP and has scored 91 runs. | |
