 | Tuesday, August 19th, 2008: Goats Torres Sidelined for 2 Weeks The Gary Goats will lose the services of first baseman Javier Torres after he sustained a sprained ankle while running the bases in today's game against the Anchorage Snow Bears. When asked about the injury, he took a philosophical approach. "Worse things can happen in life," Torres said. "The key now is to stay positive." His trainer said he is expected to be sidelined for the next 2 weeks. Torres is currently hitting at a .299 pace with 28 home runs and 94 RBIs. |
