 | Saturday, August 16th, 2008: Smokies Third Baseman Injured Juan García had to leave the Smokies game against Moreno Valley after suffering a damaged meniscus while running the bases. He will be out of the lineup at least 7 weeks. He told SION reporters, "I just felt a sharp pain when it happened. I knew there was something wrong." This year García has collected a .299 batting average to date with 138 hits in 461 at-bats, 79 RBIs, 17 home runs and scored 78 times. He has played in 119 games. |
