Saturday, August 16th, 2008: Jonesie Socks It to Yard Dawgs, Cracks 5 Hits
If just anyone could go out and hit a baseball, big dollar contracts wouldn't exist. But they can't, so the good hitters get the big bucks. At The Thunderdome Chrissy Jonesie showed how it's done as he went 5 for 5 against the Brooklyn Yard Dawgs. However this great day with the bat didn't pay off in a victory. The Syracuse Storm fell 6-3.

The manager for the Yard Dawgs told the SION sportswriters, "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it. That's the game of baseball. Don't make mistakes and you win a lot more ballgames. Luckily we came away with a win today. Jonesie just didn't get enough help."

If Jonesie keeps hitting like this, he could be headed for a big pay raise.

C. Jonesie singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off A. Norris in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

In 2008 Jonesie is batting .300 with 135 hits, 11 home runs, 59 RBIs, 52 walks, .376 OBP and has scored 67 runs. He has played in 116 games.
