 | Monday, August 4th, 2008: Ruth Player of the Week Selected The votes have been tallied and the winner of the Ruth Player of the Week has been named. It was awarded earlier today to Tom Owens for his great week at the plate. The Jacksonville shortstop took home the trophy by banging out 10 hits in 19 at-bats for a .526 batting average, driving in 4 runs and scoring 5 times. Owens is hitting .293 this season with 14 home runs, 53 RBIs and 75 runs scored. He has 104 hits in 355 at-bats. |
