 | Saturday, August 2nd, 2008: Gary Reliever Injured Gary fans will be disappointed to learn that Will Bishop developed a damaged meniscus while throwing a pitch in today's game. After the doctor informed the Gary Goats manager that Bishop was expected to miss 2 weeks, the manager told the press that the rest of the team would have to step up their play until the reliever could return. "You can't make excuses in baseball, because there's always a game tomorrow," said the team's skipper.
This season Bishop has recorded 1 save with a 6-4 record. He's made 56 relief appearances, tossed 88.1 innings while fanning 70 with a 6.32 ERA. | |
