 | Sunday, July 20th, 2008: Hill Blanks Carolina Before the game Ben Hill liked his chances and his instincts proved to be right. In a superb outing the Marlins pitcher whitewashed the Carolina Bearcats 5-0.
Hill said in the clubhouse afterward, "I just had a feeling it was going to be my day. My control was awesome. I could throw my curveball even when I was behind in the count."
The Jacksonville starter held Carolina scoreless, giving up 4 hits while registering 5 strikeouts and issuing 2 walks.
"We didn't have very many good at-bats," the Bearcats manager said in his postgame interview.
"When that happens, you usually lose."
This season-to-date Hill has 12 wins and 5 losses and a 2.49 ERA. | |
