It seemed that Jacksonville second baseman Ken Turner could do no wrong as the Marlins kayoed the Owls 9-6 today as he rapped out 5 hits in 6 at-bats. Bristol pitchers couldn't get him out as Turner seemed to know which pitches they were throwing. "I think the Marlins were stealing signs." growled one unhappy Bristol fan. "I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play." exclaimed the jubilant Turner in the postgame press interview. K. Turner walked in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 9th, singled in the 11th and hit a three-run home run off A. McCoy in the 13th. So far this year Turner has hit .313 with 17 home runs, 64 RBIs and scored 78 runs. |
