 | Thursday, June 26th, 2008: 3 Home Runs for López! Sometimes your best is just not enough. Jorge López had an outstanding day at Tidal Wave Stadium, when he ripped three home runs. Nontheless, the Honolulu Tsunami fell to the Bristol Owls 7-5. López had a feast at the plate, pounding everything thrown his way. The 20-year-old first baseman banged out 3 hits in 4 at-bats, scored 3 times and batted in 5 runs. Despite his sensational performance, the Tsunami were not able to hold off the Owls. "Baseball is a funny game," López said in the post game interview, "You can't dwell on the reasons for the loss. I'm sure there will be days when I go 0-for-4 and we win. These things tend to even out." J. López hit a three-run home run off W. Blackwell in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off W. Blackwell in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off W. Blackwell in the 6th and flied out in the 8th. Currently López is batting .292 with 54 hits and 21 home runs. He has knocked in 63 runs and scored 37 times. |
