 | Friday, June 20th, 2008: El Nicolino 5-6 for Stamford The Smugglers whipped the Vipers 19-2 at Cubeta Stadium and Joe El Nicolino had a big hand in the win. The Smugglers right fielder came to the plate 6 times and collected 5 hits. It was a good day for El Nicolino and a tough day for San Antonio. "I just go up there and whale away and hope it hits the barrel of the bat," he said. "There really isn't any plan." Plan or not, El Nicolino delivered today -- 5-6 is outstanding in any league. J. El Nicolino doubled in the 1st, flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th and tripled in the 8th. In the current season, El Nicolino has put up a .300 batting average with 86 hits, 7 home runs, 39 RBIs and scored 63 times. |
