Sunday, June 1st, 2008: Carolina's Lewis Out 2-3 Weeks
The Carolina Bearcats were dealt a serious blow when the team learned that David Lewis was likely to be out for 2-3 weeks after he injured himself running the bases in today's game against the Long Island Swordfish. A round of tests by the team doctors revealed the injury to be a strained hamstring muscle. Upon learning of their diagnosis, the Carolina manager told the press, "As you all know, we can't control injuries--they are a part of the game. We just have to do the best we can until David is back in action."

For the season, Lewis is hitting at a .214 clip with 7 home runs, 25 RBIs and has scored 21 runs. He has 51 hits, 10 walks and a .253 on-base percentage.
