 | Monday, May 19th, 2008: Davis Gets 5 Hits It was a hits blitz for Bailey Davis at The Freezer. The Fargo Bomb Dogs first baseman tore into Carolina for 5 hits in 5 at-bats to pace Bomb Dogs to a 9-1 victory and wrote his name into the baseball record book.
The manager for the Bearcats bemoaned his pitching, saying, "We fell behind and weren't locating well. Once you get behind in the count, you have to make real good pitches, rather than good pitches, and we weren't able to do that today." He added, "Not to take anything away from Davis, but bad location was the story of the ballgame. That's why we lost the game."
B. Davis singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, tripled in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off D. Hines in the 8th.
This season Davis is swinging the bat at a .320 rate with 58 hits in 181 at-bats. To date he has hit 7 home runs, scored 36 runs and driven in 29. | |
