Felix Martinez Shelved by Injury Chicago (A) fans will be disappointed to learn that Felix Martinez developed a back spasms while throwing a pitch in today's game. After the doctor informed the Chicago (A) White Sox manager that Martinez was expected to miss 7-8 weeks, the manager told the press that the rest of the team would have to step up their play until the starting pitcher could return. "You can't make excuses in baseball, because there's always a game tomorrow," said the team's skipper. To date this season, Martinez has a record of 15 wins and 5 losses and a 2.40 ERA. He has appeared in 29 games and struck out 207 in 221.1 innings. |
