 | Tuesday, September 10th, 2019: 5-Hits Blitz by Kane "It was like I was hitting little league pitching," said Steve Kane after his 5-hit performance against the Reds. "No offense meant to Cincinnati, but I could see the ball that well. But this wasn't a kid league park, it was Qualcomm Stadium!"
The San Diego left fielder had a fantastic day at the plate, knocking out 5 hits in 6 at-bats and pacing his club to a 15-8 victory.
His manager elaborated after the game to the press, saying, "Steve worked the entire offseason on trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball and the hard work is paying off in base hits."
"That's what I'm trying to do," Kane said. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it."
S. Kane singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off M. Doherty in the 8th.
In 139 games this year Kane has posted a .341 average and put up these numbers: 15 home runs, 57 RBIs and 110 runs scored. | |
