 | Sunday, September 8th, 2019: Cal Baird to Miss 3 Weeks The Pirates received bad news this morning. Cal Baird will miss 3 weeks due to fractured hand. In the Pittsburgh-New York (N) game he sustained the injury while making a defensive play. "I'm disappointed more than anything," he told reporters later in the day. "You can't help your team on the bench," Baird sighed. "I'll do the rehab work and hope for a quick recovery." Baird is batting .302 in 2019 with 38 home runs, 94 RBIs and 87 runs scored. He has 167 hits in 553 at-bats, 51 walks and a .356 on-base percentage. |
