 | Thursday, September 5th, 2019: Bancias 5-6 Against Blue Jays It was a sensational day at the plate for Ernesto Bancias as he led the charge to a 27-5 win over the Blue Jays. The Baltimore center fielder was pure misery for the Toronto pitching staff. He left them shellshocked with 5 hits in 6 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting. The manager for the Blue Jays told SION reporters after the game, "Bancias put the ball into play. He really hit it hard. When you do that, you've got a pretty good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some pretty good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." E. Bancias hit a solo-shot off O. Johnson in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 7th, hit a two-run double in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. Bancias is batting .332 this year with 14 home runs, 72 RBIs and 64 runs scored. He has 162 hits in 488 at-bats, 24 walks and a .359 on-base percentage. |
