 | Thursday, September 5th, 2019: Red-Hot Meza Scorches Blue Jays for 5 Hits All game long Baltimore's Chris Meza was rattling the walls at Oriole Park at Camden Yards and banging out base hits against the Toronto Blue Jays. When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the Orioles had a 27-5 victory. Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 30-year-old shortstop said, "Get 5 hits, win a ballgame, it's nice. I could get used to this." C. Meza grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, flied out in the 7th, singled in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off J. Hauck in the 9th. In the 2019 season Meza is batting .290 with 163 hits, 26 doubles, 8 triples and 2 home runs. He has 44 stolen bases, scored 81 runs and driven in 54. |
