 | Tuesday, September 3rd, 2019: 3-HR Game for Gil Against Nationals If you were sitting in the bleachers and brought your glove to the Brewers-Nationals game, there was a good chance you'd catch one of the three home runs hit by Mike Gil. The Brewers third baseman repeatedly sent eager fans scurrying to catch a souvenir and led Milwaukee to a 6-3 win over Washington. "Hey, the three homers were great, but I'm just trying to help my ballclub...not thinkin' about home runs. I'm just thinkin' about winning ballgames. When you think about home runs, you very seldom get 'em," he philosophized in the postgame press conference. Gil was 4-4 on the day with 3 runs batted in. M. Gil hit a solo-shot off H. Campbell in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off H. Campbell in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off J. Warburton in the 8th. In the 2019 season Gil is hitting .234 with 6 home runs. |
