Saturday, August 31st, 2019: Major Injury Forces Colbrunn Out of Baseball
The expression on his face said it all when first baseman Pete Colbrunn was injured in a game against Oakland. You could tell that this was no minor injury. Colbrunn was examined quickly by the team doctor and immediately rushed to the local hospital. After several tests, the diagnosis was fractured knee, and in this case, it means his career is over.

The Atlanta Braves issued the following statement:

"It is with great sadness to see Pete leave the game so soon. He was a great competitor and teammate and we are sure he will stick around in some capacity with our team."

Colbrunn is batting .297 this season in 101 games with 9 home runs, 48 RBIs and 35 runs scored. He has 93 hits in 313 at-bats, 16 walks and a .329 on-base percentage. Colbrunn has played in 101 games.
