 | Wednesday, August 28th, 2019: Hot Hitter! Cirillo Blisters Chicago (N)! Andy Cirillo exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Shea Stadium. The New York (N) shortstop had a field day in the 16-4 triumph over the Chicago (N) Cubs, finishing up with a 5-6 day and a spot in the league record book. "My hitting philosophy is pretty simple," he said. "I focus just to see the ball and try to get a good pitch." Well, Cirillo must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too. It was one of his best days ever with the bat. A. Cirillo singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off K. Henrich in the 9th. Thus far this year Cirillo has hit .327 with 7 home runs and 60 RBIs. He has played in 129 games and scored 80 times. |
