 | Wednesday, April 29th, 2009: 5-5 Game for Gibbs Who needs batting practice? Carlos Gibbs of Guantanamo Bay apparently doesn't as he peppered Scranton with a 5-hit outburst in today's game. He got the hits, but lost the game. The Dunderheads pulled out a 8-6 win. He told the press after the game, "And I didn't even take BP today. I think I have been taking too many swings before game and decided to take a day off. Wow, this was really something... a 5 for 5 day... will my name be in the record books now?" One of his teammates hollered out, "No, only if your team wins the game!" C. Gibbs singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and doubled in the 9th. A look at his season totals shows Gibbs with 7 home runs, .325 BA, .398 OBP, 19 RBIs and 17 runs scored. |
