 | Monday, August 19th, 2019: Yankees Win, Shut Out Rangers Kim Evans was downright nasty in pitching a 4-0 shutout against Texas. His splitter was diving, his slider was breaking and the Rangers were swinging and looking bad. In the solid 4-hit shutout the Yankees hurler chalked up 9 strikeouts and no walks in a strong outing.
"As the game went on, he got stronger," his manager said. "I thought he really turned it up a notch in the eighth and ninth and probably threw his best breaking balls in those two innings. They put a lot of balls in play early in the count because he was throwing strikes."
In 30 starts this season Evans has recorded a 19-6 record and a 3.48 ERA. | |
