 | Thursday, August 8th, 2019: Big Day for Colbrunn! Swats 5 Hits! It doesn't happen very often, but it happened for Pete Colbrunn -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage at Turner Field and paced the Braves to a 16-9 win over the Detroit Tigers. After his dynamite batting performance the Atlanta first baseman told the press, "I just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid some great dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. P. Colbrunn flied out in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off J. Taylor in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off B. Dodd in the 9th. In 2019 Colbrunn is currently batting .291 with 7 home runs and 40 RBIs. In 81 games he has reached base at a .327 rate and scored 28 runs to date. |
